As an abstract digital photographer, I’ve for the past several years been reimagining my original iPhone pictures of the flora and terrain that envelop me. Using modern non-AI technology, I’m endowed with a distinct set of lenses, which allows me to improvise with layering, altering and heightening my subject matter. The result is a painterly and often hallucinatory explosion of color, shape, and texture. Each piece transcends the ordinary in an invitation to explore the unseen.

 

My journey is rooted in the vibrant scenery of my everyday life—working in a local retail nursery, surrounded by an ever-changing palette of flowers, and living near shorelines, parks, and the remnants military bases. This rich environment fuels my desire to create otherworldly blooms, bouquets, and landscapes. Using a combination of apps on my iPhone, I venture into the obscure, where technology and nature intertwine to form a seductive sensory tapestry.

I like to think of myself as a late bloomer in the world of abstract photography, finally discovering the voice I always knew I possessed. Most of my artistic life has been spent in the service of others, primarily in the theater as a sound designer and composer. I've carried the lessons of that vibrant world into my photography (a singular occupation), infusing my work with a sense of amusement, adventure, and style.

My work serves as both a response and a refuge—offering moments of escape for both my viewers and myself. My ambition has always been to articulate my own perceptions of the world, sharing them aesthetically and inviting others to experience the same curiosity and immersion.
